Huey’s Clone on Luna Station Quarterly

For Ryan Somma’s 37th Birthday, a group of his friends and family answered his “An Invitation to Speculate: Your Clone and You“. The mission was to explore what it would be like to raise your own clone and the only other restriction was the opening line should be “My clone was” or “My clone is”. We started 67 days before his birthday and we ended up with eight clone-themed short stories and two clone-themed photographs. Not to brag or anything, but the resulting email did describe our collective efforts as the “best birthday gift ever.” Of course, it sure made the glass encased jellyfish I gave him this year look a little lame. 🙂
One of my birthday-inspired stories was published in the 9th Issue of Luna Station Quarterly earlier this month. Luna Station Quarterly is a magazine that focuses on speculative fiction by women writers. “Huey’s Clone” is currently highlighted as the “Story of the Week”. You can read the story online or download the full issue in PDF format.
P.S. If you have a clone story in you, there is no expiration date that I know of to Ryan’s “Invitation to Speculate”
P.S.S. If you are a woman writer, Luna Station Quarterly is currently accepting submissions for their next issue!
