Lion in a Bathtub

This picture is from the Wisconsin Historical Society. It was taken sometime between 1875 – 1940 (They narrowed it down to a mere 65 years).

Lions are a member of the felidae family and are more closely related to house cats, but this picture sure has me fooled. The lion’s face and posture looks identical to my dogs when they have to get a bath!
10/22/2008 Edit:
Per my sister’s request, here are comparison shots with Jimmie and Henry. I didn’t even have to turn the water on for them to adopt a dejected stance.

Take a picture of Jimmie. I want photographic evidence.

@Carolyn – Heh. Yeah, I’ll aim to do that. Though you may be waiting a while– Jimmie just had a bath two weekends ago.
Henry, however, is a ticking time bomb. Any idle afternoon can turn into bath time for Henry if he rolls in something.
And actually, usually when Jimmie gets a bath, he is a victim of economies of scale. Henry got into something and it is just easy to bathe them both while I’m already wet and covered in dog hair.

@Carolyn – Guess what! I don’t even have to turn on the water for the dogs to get that dejected stance.

You put your dogs in the tub and didn’t get them wet just to take a picture of their humiliation. Shame on you! 😛

LOL – thanks, I needed the laugh. Even though it kicked off another round of cold-induced coughing, it was worth it!

I don’t want to comment on the issue. But if the lion in the bath tub is for real, WOW that would be awesome. If only lion aren’t that wild, I would love to have one as my pet and to guard my house from thieves. LOL
Nice post!
PS: Henry is cute.

@Brain Games – Thanks for posting. I think you are right, I don’t think you could get a more intimidating “watch dog” than a lion!
