Interesting. By using Google Earth images, researchers observed that cows tend to be pointing north when they are grazing or at rest.
One time I was hiking northbound on the Appalachian Trail when I saw a black animal up ahead. I whipped out my camera, took a bunch of pictures thinking it was a bear.
Nope… it was a cow…in the middle of woods. Now that I think back on the incident, that cow was indeed pointing northbound! 🙂
