Last August, I participated in the Renew the New cleanup of the New River. A signficant portion of that effort was collecting tires out of the river, the rocks and the mud. Now we know a little more about how all those tires got there in the first place

The older I get, the more I read stories like this, and the more pissed off I become. I’ll be honest with you. I used to do a LOT of trail maintenance around the ‘Hooch here in Atlanta — but after years of seeing the same trails mistreated and repairing them over and over, I just got salty. I haven’t volunteered since.
